EATON Corporation's New POWERWARE 9140 UPS Offers Superior Power Protection for Medium and High-Density Rack Environments.
PITTSBURGH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today introduced its Powerware brand 9140 uninterruptible power system (UPS) for Emea markets, a rack-mounted system with a revolutionary compact design that delivers industry-leading, reliable and efficient power protection for medium-and-high-density racks in data centers and other mission critical facilities.
The Powerware 9140 UPS is part of Eaton’s new series of rack-mount products that solve power density and space-saving issues for data centers. The Powerware 9140 UPS is the first UPS of its size to deliver 7.5 kVA to 10 kVA of power protection in only 6U of rack space, including internal batteries.
Unlike many other UPSs of its size and power density, the Powerware 9140 UPS has a lightweight, modular design for easy installation and service. One person, working alone, can install or repair the UPS without disrupting power to protected equipment – significantly reducing maintenance and installation costs.
Powerware’s 9140 UPS is a true double-conversion, online UPS that entirely isolates all associated equipment from potential utility power problems, including outages, sags, surges, spikes, brownouts, line noise, frequency variation, switching transients and harmonic distortion.
While its compact size and power density capabilities make it ideal for supplying backup power for hungry IT equipment, such as blade servers, the Powerware 9140 UPS is equally valuable to government organizations, retail environments, financial and educational institutions, healthcare facilities and any facility where sustained uptime is crucial.
The Poweware 9140 UPS features hot-swappable batteries that provide up to 45 minutes of runtime at full load. In the event of an unexpected failure, users can hot-swap the power module while an internal bypass keeps the critical load up and running.
Other key benefits include a front-panel LCD screen, multiple connectivity options, Eaton’s long-lasting ABMâ battery technology and a choice of management systems. The two line, multilingual front-panel LCD screen – a unique feature to a UPS of this size and capability – displays all essential operational information and enables administrators to externally program various UPS features. The Eaton-exclusive ABM technology significantly increases battery life by utilizing a three-stage charging technique, allowing for prolonged periods of rest between charge phases, and optimizing recharge time with temperature-compensated charging.
The 9140 UPS can be connected via standard USB and serial ports for remote monitoring over an existing LAN, or can utilize an optional X-Slotâ interface – enabling the UPS to communicate with a variety of other systems, devices and UPSs within the existing network.
